Welcome

This list is a work in progress, but we’ll get there eventually.

Van Kitchen

One of the best things is being able to travel and make meals on the road. These are a few of our essentials that we use in the van for meal prep and dining.

Go Sun Oven

$199+

We don’t have any propane in the build, so the Go Sun Fusion solar oven means we can bake and roast and not use any battery power to do it.

Don‘t forget the silicone inserts and the Bluetooth temp probe.

Coffee!

Varies

We love our coffee in the morning, and we have a couple of ways of making it. The Nespresso Citz and the milk frother come in handy when we have time, but the kettle and Starbucks Vias are handy when we’re in a time crunch. The Ember mug is a bonus for those of us that take forever to finish a cup of coffee.

Appliances

Varies

Without propane in our build we had to rely on good quality appliances that stay under 1500 watts. We love our portable induction burner, 3 qt Instant Pot, our portable grill/griddle, and even a sous vide for longer cooking with less power usage.

Sous Vide: https://amzn.to/3ozMPZD

Dishes Knives & More

Varies

We are often asked about our spice rack. It is simply some glass jars https://amzn.to/3DldxZV with some magnets in the lids https://amzn.to/3uL8y1C

Our knives are Wustoff Classic Ikon https://amzn.to/3ljsky4

and our dishes are from Barebones and are metal to hold up to anything. https://amzn.to/3aaqOIu

One MVP is the wonderbag which not only does the job of keeping things hot but it is great soft storage for traveling. https://www.wonderbagworld.com/shop-us

Cookbooks for Inspiration

Varies

I always need ideas while we travel, especially when it comes to meal planning. I took some inspiration from sailboats as well as camping food. Here are some of my favorite cookbooks for #vanlife.

Dirty Gourmet: https://amzn.to/3Dcziv0

The New Camp Cookbook: https://amzn.to/3iFU26u

Gourmet Girls go Camping: https://amzn.to/3mwJoQQ

Pots and Cooking Utensils

Varies

I have to admit I love my Staub cookware. They had me at sapphire blue and of course they work on the induction burner. https://amzn.to/3Bj9HQF

Of course you can’t go far without a cast iron frying pan or two as well. https://amzn.to/3BpE8EY

We also use a non stick pan for most ‘indoor’ cooking: https://amzn.to/3Bn0hn9

Essential Van Stuff

Essential to us, at least

Van Electric: Goal Zero

We fast tracked our build with Goal Zero Yetis. We can monitor them with our iPhones on the road and having 3 of them means no single point of failure in the build.  One 1400 powers the fridge (and aux cooking), another 1400 powers the diesel heater, 12v appliances, lights, fan, pump, etc. and the 3000 is for cooking.

Fun Stuff

We included some fun items for the times we can relax and chill out at the van. The hammock hitch allows us to kick back and enjoy the great outdoors. https://www.mcleanmetalworksmfg.com

The Biolite fire pit is a great way to have a self contained fire or charcoal grill without the smoke. https://amzn.to/3DgimDZ

We used the Clam shelter during the last hike to thwart those darned biting flies. https://amzn.to/3FrKAh8

Speaking of flies, don’t travel without a bug zapper! https://amzn.to/3DmrEhV

Comfort at Home

Our Purple Mattress was easy to cut down and fit in our space. https://amzn.to/3mvdLHd

We added linen bedding that has a bonus of snaps which makes laundry easier. It’s nice over our wohttps://primarygoods.com

The Ruggable Rug is easy to sweep & to toss in the laundry. https://ruggable.com/products/cambria-sapphire?size=3x5

We even travel with Alexa to check weather and news, and play music or rain sounds when the parking area is noisy at night: https://amzn.to/3oEM8OM
